Whereas the integrity of Mont-Orford Park must be preserved for the benefit of both current and future generations;

Whereas, the lands withdrawn from the park under Bill 23, though remaining in the public domain, are now out of the park and thus no longer benefit from the protection of the Parks Act;

Whereas the Parks Act is, under current law, the best way to ensure the permanent protection of land within a park;

I request that the 459 hectares removed from the park under Bill 23 be restored to Mont-Orford park. To this end, I request that the Quebec National Assembly proceed with the legislative modifications necessary for the return of the said lands to the park.
